Equipment
What Vehicles Do we Use?
We pride ourselves on our modern fleet of 4WD vehicles. All vehicles are fully air-conditioned with reclining seats, foot rests and seat belts. All our trailers have recovery equipment and satellite phones for emergency. Our Safari trailers / kitchens provide refrigerated food storage areas, lighting and lots of fresh food. What is the Camping Equipment Like?
We provide you with all the camping equipment to make outdoors as pleasurable as possible. Our tents are easy to erect. They are canvas square tents with 1 peg in each corner and a pole in the middle, complete with built-in floor and insect screens. The tents are two-person safari canvas tents (you can stand up straight in them). Can I have a single tent?
Single tents are available on all our camping tours. Sole use of tents can be requested at time of booking (limited number available) at no charge.
For the 2011 season, we now offer Sleeping Bag Kits that are available for hire. These kits contain a sleeping bag, a cotton liner and a pillow for your use for the duration of the tour. They are available for hire for $35pp. These need to be prebooked, so let us know if you require this option.
We also provide vinyl-covered foam sleep mats (about 2 inches thick) and a bush dining area that consists of backed chairs and tables. This is erected at most camping areas – except were there is a dining aready provided at some camp grounds.
What if I need extra comforts?
Camp stretchers are now included on all our tours from the 2011 season. These are lightweight, consist of a metal frame and sit approx 50cm from the ground. Our camp stretchers fit perfectly inside our tents.
For those who choose, we also have swags available instead of tents. Our swags are high quality and have been specially made for us by the best in the industry. All swags have thick cotton covered mattresses with thick canvas coverings and durable zippers. These are durable and lightweight – and also popular with our passengers.
